LEAD OCTOATE

It is an auxiliary drier containing 24% and 36% lead.

Lead is one of the auxiliary driers known as driers and is used as an active or high-level drier. It hardens and provides flexibility by drying throughout the film layer. It is preferred in alkyd coatings that do not require smoke resistance.

Lead is usually used in combination with cobalt and calcium octoate. It is soluble in organic solvents and oils. It can be used as a drier in oil paints, polyester catalyst accelerator and in applications such as bonding rubber to metal. It can be used together with other metal driers.
