MANGANESE OCTOATE

It is used as a surface dryer in alkyd-based air-drying industrial paints and varnishes. It is the most effective dryer in the drying process between the surface of the film and the substrate. However, it may not be preferred in white paints due to its dark color. It has varieties with 6%, 8%, and 10% metal ratios.

Manganese Octoate is an extremely durable auxiliary dryer. Manganese Octoate is an active drying metal and a strong oxidant, supporting the polymerization process more than cobalt dryers. It is generally used alone in back coatings and together with lead and cobalt in air-drying applications.

It does not mix with organic solvents and oils. It can be used instead of cobalt dryers with lower drying capacity. It is especially recommended to use it instead of cobalt in dark and black colored paints. The recommended usage rate is between 0.01% – 0.06% depending on the solids content. It is generally recommended to use it together with lead and calcium.
